Much of what we think of as the day to day engineering and management of network security can be classified as NETOPS or Network Operations. While this represents only a portion of the larger Cyber Security picture, it is nevertheless where the majority of effort is expended by organizations today in their attempts to keep their enterprises secure. So, when people discuss the deployment of intrusion detection systems, perimeter DMZs and management of Virtual Private Networks for example, what they are really referring to is NETOPS.
No two organizations may conduct NETOPS in the same manner, some of this is due to non-standard processes but much is due to the nature of the organization itself - its mission, its infrastructure and its security expectations. The CCS practice is designed to support existing capabilities and add to them without requiring massive reinvestments. We view NETOPS as becoming "Cyber NETOPS," or network operations managed within the full enterprise Cyber Security lifecycle. The CCS Practice has developed an extensive array of Cyber NETOPs Capabilities as a part of its core solutions approach.

Tomorrow's NETOPS must concern itself with multiple domains and regions, not just enclaves...
